Some of the most enjoyable and relaxing flying happens after the sun goes down. There is nothing like watching the sunset and the ground light-up with twinkling lights from above. A Night Rating is a great extension to the skills learned in obtaining a Private License and opens a door to a new set of possibilities. Insignia College offers Night Rating Training Program in Delta, BC for those who want to fly at night.
The Night Rating program is separated into two paths: ground instruction and flight training. We will furnish you with the required background knowledge, skill, and understanding to successfully meet Transport Canada requirements for the rating. There is no formal Ground school for this program.
Flight with a flight instructor. During dual flight student will be introduced to Night flying. Once a level of skill and competence has been reached student will fly night solo flight in the aircraft.
Student must complete a minimum of 20 hours of total flight hours, which include:
5 hours dual night flight time including 2 hours of cross-country flight time.
10 hours dual instrument time, a maximum of 5 hours of which may be instrument ground time 5 hours training Private Pilot License already received during training); and,
Complete a qualifying flight by demonstrating the level of skill specified in the Flight Instructor Guide.
5 hours solo night flight time including 10 take-offs, circuits and landings.
Note: Fuel surcharges will apply on top of these hourly rates. Taxes are applied where applicable. Tuition fee is same for domestic and international students.
Flight Training cost is based on Transport Canada Minimum on the Cessna 172 Skyhawk Plane. If any student exceeds these requirements due to their performance, the student will pay extra for any additional training. Any additional training will be charged at the same hourly rates as mentioned above. Pricing is subject to change.
Training is at the student’s pace and convenience and can start any time. The course will take 4 weeks to finish the endorsement.
The candidate must hold a valid Private Pilot License.
There is no flight test or written exam are required. Candidates must meet the skill requirements and Complete a qualifying flight by demonstrating the level of skill specified in the Flight Instructor Guide.
