The beauty of flying above the clouds is surreal to experience, yet this rating has real practical benefits too like allowing you to fly over poor weather rather than through it when visual reference to the ground is unavailable. VFR OTT is included in the privileges for a Commercial Licence.
A minimum of 15 hours instrument training. Instrument hours from the Private Pilot Licence and Night Rating may be included in which five (5) hours may be instrument ground time; and
Reach the level of knowledge and skill specified in the Flight Instructor Guide – VFR Over-The-Top.
Note: All rates are the same for domestic and international students.
Flight Training cost is based on Transport Canada Minimum on the Cessna 172 Skyhawk Plane. If any student exceeds these requirements due to their performance, the student will pay extra for any additional training. Any additional training will be charged at the same hourly rates as mentioned above. Pricing is subject to change.
Fuel surcharges will apply on top of these hourly rates. Taxes are applied where applicable.
Training is at the student’s pace and convenience and can start any time. when possible, some training will be scheduled under actual conditions. The course will take 4 weeks to finish the endorsement full time and 16 weeks if part time.
The candidate must hold a valid Private Pilot Licence.
There is no flight test or written exam are required. Candidates must meet the skill requirements and Complete a qualifying flight by demonstrating the level of skill specified in the Flight Instructor Guide.
