Insignia College offers the following Administration courses:

Customer Service and Communication

Basic methods of verbal and non-verbal communication will be presented and practiced. Strategies for eliminating communication barriers will be described.

Respect, privacy, and dealing with a diverse patient population will be discussed along with techniques to deal with difficult customers. Role-playing and case studies will be employed.

Business Communications – Level 1

Students will learn a variety of effective communication methods for the modern business office. Topics include written and oral communications, grammar, spelling and the communication process.

Business Communications – Level 2

Using the ethics and etiquette taught to students in the Level 1 module, students will apply these in further communication needs within businesses. Students will learn to write routine messages using “positive/negative/positive sandwiches.” Students will be given tools invaluable methods in writing persuasive methods while understanding the difference between persuasive and demanding.

Students will also learn how to plan and produce effective reports and proposals as well as developing an interesting and effective business presentation. It is essential that student have MS Word Level 2 skills to produce effective and well-sourced reports. Prerequisite B130.

Office Procedures

Students will examine the necessities required for operating a smooth and efficient office environment. Topics covered include basic filing techniques, telecommunications, time management and organizational use of general office equipment.
