Medical Terminology

This module of medical administration program introduces students to medical language of medicine, basic terminology, and medical word formation using prefixes, suffixes and combining forms.

Terms pertaining to the whole body are discussed. The course teaches the proper pronunciation and the correct spelling of medical words to increase the students’ ability to effectively communicate in the medical profession.

Anatomy and Physiology

Building on their basic knowledge of medical terminology, students develop their understanding of the human body and its various systems. By studying the body systems separately, students learn each system’s terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostics, and pathology.

The body systems covered in the module are the urinary, male and female reproduction, digestive, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, blood, lymphatic, immunology, endocrine, musculoskeletal, skin and sense. In addition, oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, psychiatry, and pharmacology will be introduced.
